Unlocking Opportunity: How Veterans Can Use VA’s LACAS Reimbursement Program for Divergence+ Courses

But what exactly is LACAS—and how does it work?

What Is LACAS?

LACAS, short for Licensing and Certification Approval System, is a VA initiative that reimburses eligible veterans, active-duty servicemembers, and some family members for the cost of industry-recognized certification exams and approved training programs.

This means that if you’re using your Post-9/11 GI Bill®, you can be reimbursed for the full cost of an approved Divergence+ course, as long as it leads to a recognized certification.

What Courses at Divergence+ Are GI Bill Reimbursable?

Thanks to LACAS approval, several Divergence+ courses are eligible for GI Bill reimbursement, including:

• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
• Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
• Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
• CompTIA Security+
• …and more in the GRC (Governance, Risk, Compliance) and cybersecurity domains.

These courses are structured to equip learners with job-ready skills and prepare them for certification exams that hold real value in the cybersecurity workforce.

They can also be combined through our tracks, including Cloud Operations Professional, for bundled discounts. (Please note that each cert prep course would still need to submitted for reimbursement individually.)

How the Reimbursement Works

1. Enroll in an approved Divergence+ course. Our admissions team will help you confirm whether the course is GI Bill reimbursable.
2. Pay upfront. VA requires that students pay the cost of the course upfront to be eligible for reimbursement.
3. Apply for reimbursement through VA.gov. Once you complete the course, you submit your proof of payment and completion to the VA for reimbursement.

💡 Note: Reimbursement is not automatic. You must apply through the VA, but our team can help guide you through the process.

Who’s Eligible?

You may be eligible if you are:

• A veteran with remaining Post-9/11 GI Bill® or Montgomery GI Bill® benefits
• A spouse or dependent using Transferred Entitlement
• An active-duty servicemember with eligibility for certain benefits
